Early Signs and Symptoms of Pregnancy

The early warning symptom of pregnancy will be different with different women but an unusual period or one missed altogether is something every woman recognizes. Within the first week of being impregnated, some women will notice early pregnancy symptoms. Not all women will experience early warning signs of pregnancy for a few weeks and maybe not even then.  Call your physician when you exhibit any signs of pregnancy or weight gain during pregnancy.

The uterine wall is imbedded with the embryo about 6 to 12 days after conception takes place. This process will cause a few women to have some cramping and a little spotting. A menstrual period that is late or missed is the most common sign that the woman who has been sexually active should get a pregnancy test. After you have been impregnated the next period will be missed. Some women will have a very light period even though they are pregnant but it will last a much shorter time than she would normally have a period.

Somewhere in the first or second week after impregnation the breasts of the woman will be sensitive and engorged. The areola of the breasts will get deeper in color. The early symptom of fatigue sets in within the first week. You should always contact your doctor when having any bleeding during pregnancy.

Morning sickness is probably one of the most common symptoms and may continue during the whole pregnancy. Some women never have this symptom but it normally lasts anywhere between two to eight weeks. Another common sign of early pregnancy is lower back pain and this may be a condition that persists as a muted pain. Changes of the hormones usually cause headaches in the early stages of pregnancy.

Within the first six weeks of becoming pregnant, frequent urination is a common symptom. Another common sign is food cravings. These cravings may not include the old pickles and ice cream combination but certain foods will become more appealing during the pregnancy. The bottom line is if you think you may be pregnant there are many choices for home pregnancy tests and a visit to your health care professional is then your first step for the safety of yourself and your baby..
